Between 2-4 September 2026 representatives from ISU Timiș (“Banat” Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of Timiș County) joined our team for the three-day train-the-trainer session in Malaga, Spain within ENSURE – Emergency Responders Upskilling System for Enhanced Resilience and Innovation (Project 101187688).

The training provided participants with hands-on experience of the virtual reality (VR) scenarios developed within ENSURE, while introducing the educational and operational applications of innovative technologies for emergency response training. Participants became familiar with VR environments and equipment and had the opportunity to apply these tools in realistic emergency scenarios, with a focus on developing practical operational skills.

The session also explored the use of drones in emergency management, highlighting their potential to support emergency responders in training and operational contexts.

The Train-the-Trainer activity aimed to strengthen participants’ skills in VR-based training methodologies, increase confidence in using innovative technologies, and enhance understanding of how digital tools can contribute to more effective emergency preparedness and response.

Beyond the technical and practical aspects, the event provided an important opportunity to reinforce collaboration among ENSURE partners. The feedback and experiences shared by participants will contribute to the further development and refinement of training resources and methodologies within the project. Through activities such as this, ENSURE continues to support the development of better-prepared, more skilled and technologically equipped emergency responders, contributing to greater resilience and innovation in emergency management.
