In 2022, the European Commission launched a pilot project aimed at enhancing functional area approaches within the EU, in collaboration with the World Bank. This initiative provided targeted support to 12 functional areas (FAs) and short-term assistance to another 12, across 8 Member Countries.

In May 2024, we had the privilege of attending the final conference „Functional Areas in the EU – Challenges, Opportunities, and Strengths.” It was an invaluable opportunity to learn about the project’s outcomes, tools, and conclusions.
