CPIP Romania – Centrul pentru Promovarea Invatarii Permanente, as EU expert in Adult Education Policy, was honored to participate in september 2025 event in Skopje, North Macedonia focusing on the Implementation of the European Agenda for Adult Learning. We were inspired by the strong commitment of participants and the tangible steps outlined for future collaboration! Various key topics were addressed, including:

  • The current challenges in the Adult Education sector, such as low participation and low awareness of Adult Learning and Education (ALE) and Lifelong Learning (LLL).
  • EU priorities and their alignment with North Macedonia’s vision for 2025-2030, ensuring the country is on track with the Union of Skills initiative.
  • Voices from the field: Learners, providers, employers, and local representatives shared their insights on what is working and what needs improvement in the sector.
  • Collaborative group work focused on designing strategies to overcome barriers and enhance the adult education landscape.
  • Synthesis and Roadmap: Discussions centered around creating a clear roadmap for improving participation, quality, and inclusion in adult education, while also preparing North Macedonia for the future of EU labor mobility.

Key message: North Macedonia is making significant strides towards aligning its adult education policies with EU standards and the Union of Skills framework.
