3R – „Respire, Remember, Respond. Emotional Intelligence for reducing recidivism”
The Purpose of the 3R project is to improve the social adaptability and resilience of offenders and ex-offenders, to promote their reintegration to society, and as a result to reduce recidivism. The project plans to show the importance of the application of Emotional Intelligence tools and strategies for inmates who will be released within 6 months in order to reduce the levels of recidivism.
The project is gathering partners from five EU countries:

The project is based on two Intellectual Outputs (IO), namely:
IO1: EMOTIONS FOR FREEDOM TOOLKIT
– The activities and products are designed for PRISON STAFF. The IO1 focuses on the special emotional skills demanded by professionals whose role is to support inmates in their attempt to reintegrate into society.
IO2: LEADING 2 FREEDOM TOOLKIT
– The activities and products are designed for INMATES. The project consortium will identify the 10 main emotional skills that inmates need to manage in the last 6 months before releasing and 3-6 months later in order to avoid recidivism. For this purpose the consortium will make an analysis of the State of the Art in this field.
