Art is Us

Art is Us – Art for Local Innovation

The Art is Us project aims to use the transformative force of culture for community regeneration to respond to the severe impact that the COVID-19 pandemic. It equips artists, community leaders and art educators with key skills and competences for a sustainable creative career and provides them with the opportunity to be successful innovators in their communities.

The project consortium is composed of six organisations from five EU countries:

  • JUGEND-& KULTURPROJEKT EV – Germany
  • MELTING PRO LEARNING SOCIETA COOPERATIVA – Italy
  • ART AND ACTION NETWORK (balloon people) – Greece
  • RESEARCH INNOVATION AND DEVELOPMENT LAB PRIVATE COMPANY – Greece
  • CENTRUL PENTRU PROMOVAREA INVATARII PERMANENTE – Romania

Three Intellectual Outputs will be developed and tested within the project, namely:

IO1: Art is Us learning programme

– The objective of this IO is to develop a learning programme that responds to the target groups needs, (four microlearning modules, focused on the learners’ journey from understanding the community →partnership building →budgeting/ fundraising →sustainable art career

IO2: Art is Us web platform

-IO2 develops a web platform containing: Information about the Art is Us project; the Art is Us micro-learning programme (IO1), a Virtual Library / digital collection of resources; an innovation space/ forum for discussions/thematic workshops; Learners/educators/mentors personal stories/testimonials; an attractive exhibition/ display space for all project public deliverables.

IO3: Open Innovation Activities

– IO3 implements the projects through Open Innovation Activities that create innovatory change in the communities. The specific format of the innovation activities will depend upon the learners’ vision and ideas. Diversity and vulnerable groups’ / intergenerational participation will be encouraged. At least 60 ideas (15 per country) are expected to be successfully delivered and make a change in the community.
