The idea of this project is to connect people more easily and to support the well-being of teachers and students by exploiting new technologies. Furthermore, the project aims to exploit the digital technologies in the benefits of teachers and pupils in order to help them to adapt more easily to evolve and show resilience in the face of adversity.

The general objective of our project is to develop new learning materials and at the same time to respond to the following questions

1. How online schools can continuously support their pupils, staff, and their families so that the risk to their health and wellbeing is reduced?

2. How we can support each group during this time?

3. How can the teachers interact with the pupils and keep them engage in the digital world?

The target group of the HOPE4school is composed of: teachers and educators and school leaders the auxiliary staff as counselors pupils in primary and secondary education, parents, specialists (social workers, psychologists, nutritionists), policymakers, organizations providing educational activities, school inspectors and public authority.

We expect results that are practical, feasible, and respond to the needs of schools and communities. In this regard, our aim is to have the following results:

First Result: Methodology for teachers to introduce well-being in schools (implementation guide)

  • Represented by a methodology for school staff (teachers, school leaders, and counselors) to help them design a strategy and steps for introducing a whole school approach to well-being and mental health issues.

 

Second Result: Online repository resources on wellbeing and interactive digital tools

  • This result aims to produce changes in three ways:

-raise awareness of school staff and pupils on well-being and mental health by providing them tools at hand either for learning in the classroom or while online

-more equipped school staff and pupils with digital pedagogical tools and techniques to engage with learners and colleagues.

-increase the ability of teachers and pupil to work autonomy by developing independent learning ability and self-monitoring skills.

Third Result: Best practices and learning from real-life situations

  •  This result consists of collecting several best practices at the international level, emphasizing how the school managed the pandemic situation, the shift from learning in the classroom to online learning, negative effects of the COVID-19 situation like burn-out and stress.
