Digital soft skills for blended learning

During these uncertain times, it is of essential importance teachers, schools and communities to be supported and better prepared to answer the needs of their students and create inclusive learning. Today, more than ever, soft skills are the key to efficient learning process. It is of crucial importance to know how to effectively communicate with students in an online environment; to have the ability to manage and solve conflicts; to support and enhance students’ motivation; to make online learning sustainable and valuable and to avoid burn-out.

The overall aim of S4B project is to support teachers’ profession on creating innovative tools aiming to enhance the key abilities and attitudes, necessary for effective implementation of digital learning and proper functioning in the new educational reality.

The project will be developed along the lines of three Results:

First Result: DISCOVERING THE WAY Research report

  • A research report, aiming to create a map of the 12 most important soft skills needed for effective and successful managing of digital learning process, as well as a test with the help of which the teachers could self-assess the level of development of these skills, detecting the areas on which they have to focus in order to improve their competences.

 

Second Result: WALKING IN THE PATHWAY Training kit

  • The key to this product is the regular practice on daily basis with the help of attractive materials and performing a series of tasks. To make this training effective the partnership will use short videos, called “video pills”. For each of the 12 important soft digital skills, defined within the frame of R1 there will be at least one video pill developed – short, practical and attractive audiovisual presentations aiming to increase the motivation of the teachers to improve their competences.

 

Third Result: SKILLS PATHWAY Handbook

  • The partnership intends to create a handbook with guidelines for practical application of the research report mapping the 12 crucial digital skills (R1) and the training toolkit for their development (R2)
