Title:Supporting the Development of Media Literacy in Education
Project Number: 101132853
The Think Twice project is driven by a profound commitment to addressing the existing gaps in the formal education system, which struggles to keep pace with the rapid transformations in learning and communication. The primary objectives and ambitions of Think Twice are centred around empowering learners and educators through competence development, enhancing the capacities of education providers, and presenting valuable insights to policymakers shaping curricula content and strategies for the initial and continuous professional development (CPD) of teachers in the realm of media and digital literacy.
The Think Twice consortium recognizes the imperative to bridge these gaps in both initial teacher training and continuous professional development, particularly in the critical domains of digital literacy and combating disinformation. The project seeks to not only address content and methodology but also aims for systemic impact by employing scalable approaches in curriculum development for digital literacy and disinformation mitigation. The overarching goal of the project is to engage and support key stakeholders within the education system. This comprehensive approach encompasses the competence development of learners and educators, the capacity building of education providers, and influencing policymakers responsible for decisions related to curricula content, as well as the initial and CPD education of teachers.
The project also integrates guidelines for teachers and educators, providing valuable resources for addressing disinformation and promoting digital literacy through education and training. Through these efforts, Think Twice aims to contribute significantly to the advancement of digital literacy and media education across the education landscape.
