Vital – VITALity for the Future

VITALity for the Future aims to change the way vocational education in the health care sector regards personal well-being and positive health at a personal level, a professional level, from a teacher’s perspective and at a systemic level.
The project focuses on the development of flexible learning materials to prepare new and present staff in the vitality sector for a new approach to healthy ageing, to be catalysts of change and to make working in this sector more attractive to young people.
The project is designed and implemented by nine partner organisations, from six different corners of Europe:
The project foresees to realize four Intellectual Outputs:
IO1: Trends & Developments in the partner countries and the wider EU and its consequences for VET
Objective – To research, describe and analyse the state of play in the health care and vitality sector & to assess the extent vocational education should take account in their curriculum profiles of positive health and prevention initiatives.
IO2: New training materials for initial and continuous education in the Vitality Sector
Objective – To develop a series of units of learning that can used in vocational profiles in the vitality sector to enhance the knowledge and the role of positive health and prevention; to provide practical examples of best practice interventions; and to develop the necessary skills to competently employ the acquired knowledge.
IO3: Vitality and Positive Health in citizenship education in VET
Objective – To develop a flexible module on the importance of positive health and prevention aimed at young people in vocational education.
IO4: Capacity-building of teachers in Vitality and Positive Health
Objective – To develop a training programme for teachers in the vitality sector on the role of vitality and positive health in their professional area and to offer them tools to use in the training of upcoming VET professionals in the vitality sector.
