At the beginning of december 2025, CPIP Romania – Centrul pentru Promovarea Invatarii Permanente attended the “Skills for Democracy: How Vocational Education and Training Shapes Active Citizenship”, the 19th Cedefop Brussels Seminar, organised in cooperation with the Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU.

This high-level seminar gathered policymakers, VET experts, educators, and European institutions to explore how vocational education and training (VET) can foster active, engaged, and democratic participation among learners. Key discussions on:

  • Inclusive citizenship education and preliminary findings from Cedefop’s latest study
  • Innovative models such as Skills City that strengthen community, diversity, and democratic engagement
  • Good practices empowering active citizenship within VET systems across Europe
  • Policy perspectives shaping the future of citizenship education at EU level

We look forward to bringing these insights back into our work and continuing to support European cooperation in VET and citizenship education!
